“Life is like riding a bicycle, to keep your balance you must keep moving.”

— Albert Einstein

This quote could not be more true when it comes to Massage Therapy. Movement is so important to the prevention of disease and the maintenance of well being and massage is a wonderful tool to help maintain this balance.

Massage therapy plays an integral role in complementary medicine as a positive touch modality which works with the nervous system to create and maintain movement and decrease tension in the muscles caused by injury or the stress of everyday life.

In my Massage Therapy practice I provide a safe and calm space for you to find balance. The techniques that I use are a combination of knowledge that I have gained from years of experience and numerous continuing education courses.   Depending on the primary concern or specific area I will use trigger point techniques, fascial release, sensory input and proprioceptive manipulation, and craniosacral techniques.  These techniques have amazing neurophysiological effects, that is, they tap into the peripheral and central nervous systems to decrease sensations of pain and allow for greater movement. They create balance within the nervous system.

I especially like to use Craniosacral therapy as it is a gentle approach for treatment of chronic or persistent pain, concussion management, headache and migraine symptoms. By using light to moderate touch, dysfunction can be identified and the whole body is addressed.
